Sustainability In Events

How does Endless Events stay committed to sustainability?

Remote Work

In 2013, Endless Events traded in our bright green-walled, quirky brick and mortar for a fully remote-work environment.

Environmental Benefits

  • Lower Greenhouse Gas Emissions – Transportation is the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions. Since we don’t commute, we know we’re making an impact in reducing greenhouse gas emissions
  • Less Use of Fossil Fuels – Since we’re not commuting to and from work, we’re using less gasoline.
  • Lower Carbon Footprint – Without a brick and mortar office, our carbon footprint is lower as carbon emissions come from heating, cooling, and lighting of commercial properties.
  • Reduced Air Pollution – Fewer cars on the road means reduced air pollution. When our entire company isn’t driving to work, we’re automatically fighting climate change.
  • Less Waste – We create virtually zero paper waste, as everything we do is electronic.

Health Benefits

  • Lower Stress Levels – Removing stressful commutes and workplace pressure, remote employees are afforded the freedom to work in an environment where they are most comfortable, which means they are less stressed and more productive.
  • Less Exposure to Germs – Transportation systems and office spaces are prime places to contract seasonal illnesses. Less exposure to these environments means remote employees stay healthier.
  • More Rest – Less commuting time means more time for rest.
  • More Balanced Social/Family Life – Less commuting time means more like for family and friends.
  • Opportunity for more Routine Healthcare & Check-ups – Remote employees are less likely to delay healthcare appointments.

Advanced Technology

Endless Events also has a core focus on using the best technology. Not only does this help elevate event experiences, but technology selection and usage also help protect the environment.

  • Sustainable Tech – Endless is committed to using technology onsite at events that are sustainable like LED technology.
  • Tech for Business –  None of our internal processes rely on paper at all! Even when our clients say “we will print this out,” we tell them that it’s unsustainable.
  • Tech at Events – We encourage our clients to implement event technology like event apps instead of using printed paper, maps, agendas, etc.
  • Green Promotional Materials – We educate our clients on why it’s best practice to not choose single-use promotional materials. We encourage clients to use TVs outside of breakout rooms that can be changed from day to day and event to event rather than being thrown out when the day is over . Not only is this sustainable, but it’s smarter. We can change the content, show capacity, communicate changes, etc.

Partners

We do our best to work with vendors who are also sustainable. We love working with people who understand the future of technology. These partners are with us in the future and avoid outdated practices like sending us paper invoices.

Education

We educate our clients on sustainable practices.

It’s not always easy. If a client wants to give out mass amounts of cheap items, trinkets, or tchotchkes at their event, we turn that into a conversation about sustainability. Rather than handing out pens and paper that will inevitably end up in the trash can at the end of the event, we encourage our clients to provide items of value that will be used over and over again.

We also help educate the event professional community. We create podcast episodes dedicated to more sustainable events, we write articles detailing how event planners can do better, and we have talked extensively about sustainability in our Event Trends Guide for the past three years.

No one is perfect, and we don’t claim to be ourselves. We simply aim to have conversations that question common practices and strive to do better.
