Every Friday for the next couple of months we will be having a Staff Spotlight blog, highlighting one member of our incredible staff each week. Let’s get started with Alisha Rickman, our Event Staff Manager!
How did you get started at Endless?
I’ve known Danny Fancher (Operations Manager at Endless) for a long time. He told me about an opening at Endless that he thought I would be a good fit for. I wanted to get back into events and this was a great opportunity, so I decided to make the move out to Arizona from Colorado and start working with Endless!
How would you describe what you do to someone who doesn’t work here?
I am the Event Staff Manager. My main priority is to train and lead all of the on-site event staff at Endless to provide the best experience for our clients.
What was your most rewarding moment at Endless so far?
Coming into a brand new experience in a specific part of the events industry, coming in as the ‘new person’, and tackling the huge event that is Phoenix Comicon was very rewarding for me. I was able to staff and prepare the ample amount of people on that event and made sure that everything went well, resulting in an amazing event spanning over four days. (Check out our blogs on Phoenix Comicon’s Production and Programming)
What is something unique about you that most people don’t know?
Before I came to Arizona, when I was still living in Colorado, I was really into yoga and acroyoga. I was actually planning a routine for a circus before the opportunity popped up at Endless. I didn’t end up performing my routine as a part of the circus, but I still enjoy yoga and acroyoga in my free time.
What is one unique, extra enjoyable moment you’ve had at an event?
Working at the Cannes Film Festival in France was amazing. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity that so few people get a chance to be a part of. Being a part of the largest film festival in the world in a different part of the world was a great experience and I am very thankful for it.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Anything outdoors is good for me. Hiking, climbing, yoga. Pretty much anything active.
Any favorites that stick out?
Dale Carnegie’s How to Win Friends and Influence People is my favorite book. I live by it!
As for my favorite food, one specific experience always sticks out to me. In Ireland there was a gluten free brownie at a restaurant called Hugo’s that I had one time. It was amazing and I would love to go back and have it again!
What is your favorite quote or words to live by?
“Take time to live life. It will only inspire your work” -Unknown
